Two Union Ministers of Telugu Desam Party have resigned
from Narendra Modi Government. A trusted ally from Andhra Pradesh
is of course still continues to be in NDA.

The break away of TDP from BJP, can be
analysed into three major aspects.

First being Governmental. Second
purely political and third futurisitcs positions.

2014 and 2015 were honey moon period for Naidu and TDP with Centre.
Later in 2016 it deteriorated into bad dreams.

TDP Government and BJP Government exchanged official levels of deliberations
on special status and special grants to Andhra Pradesh. First Govt to Govt
relations soured, as Centre felt that grants from New Delhi is not being
spent properly and no utilisation certificates were being submitted
from Andhra to New Delhi. Modi Government approach was at par with
five other southern states like Telangana, Karnataka,Tamil Nadu

Now political issues,Narendra Modi understood the
political game Naidu was playing. Naidu arch rival Jagmohan
Reddy YSR Congress is catching up. Reddy has become a true
enemy of Chandrababu Naidu. In CBI and Income Tax raids on
Jagmohan, according to TDP, the Centre and BJP were going slow
and BJP was negotiating with YSR Congress. Another aspect in early 2015
that Naidu embroiled in controversies over tape recording of buying MLAs,
there was a criminal case filed against Naidu by Telangana Rashtriya Samiti leader K

Chandrasekhar Rao who is Chief Minister of Telangana. KCR wanted to arrest Naidu
ButModi tried to mediate between these two warring Chief Ministers as the
heat was so high soon after the bifurcation of Andhra into two states.

Why Naidu suspected Governor's role?

Chandrababu Naidu was very keen on removal of Governor of
Andhra Pradesh ESL Narasimhan, as Naidu suspected
that Narasimhan is acting like an agent of Centre against the Andhra
interest. Five times, Naidu requested Prime Minister for a new Governor.
Modi did not relent. In other words Modi brought coounter pressure on Naidu by
retaining ESL Narasimhan and getting hard core political inputs.

Amit Shah BJP Chief toured Andhra Pradesh and was criticising Naidu approach.
Andhra unit BJP Chief Purandeswari a former Congress leader, incidentally
sister in law of Chandrababu Naidu went all out against Telugu Desam party
and exposed the corruption and dealy tactics of Naidu in building state
capital Amaravati.

Why Naidu got rattled with Amit Shah frequent visits to Andhra to build BJP?

Amit Shah BJP leader once stated to Naidu that Narendra Modi is not like
Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government to yeild to pressure tactics.Nor blackmailed
emotionally. This was the time, say in early 2017. For one year there was
no exchange of words between Modi and Naidu. Thanks to Amit Shah repeated tours
in Andhra to building BJP Organisational structure.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not given appointment
to TDP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for the past one year.

Centre asked receipts for the grants sanctioned to Government of Andhra
Pradesh. There was no response from Naidu. Out of 16 meetings between
Prime Minister and Chief Minister during 2014 and 2016, Naidu would have
sought lakhs and lakhs of crores of rupees as a special grants. Everytime
Naidu wanted only 'paisa-paisa' But Centre has a responsibility to take care
of 28 other states in India. Centre stood guranteee with the Andhra to
enter into many memoranda of understandings with Singapore, Korea
Japan about the mega projects. Naidu made only media headlines, but nothing
on ground nor was Andhra Government transparent with their incomes and spending.

BJP was waiting for this moment, reason being that Narendra Modi
and Amit Shah both have been feeling that TDP Leader Chandrababu Naidu was
exceeding his limitation and crossing the lakshman rekha
of coailition dharma.

What is the future of TDP?

TDP has withstood many storms. 2018 political turbulence can also be
effectively tackled. But options before TDP are minimal. TDP cannot go
with Congress, nor TDP can align with YSR Congress in the state. Except
third front scenario. But KCR has overtaken Naidu political thought process
KCR positioned as a stumbling block for Naidu for third front.
Can Naidu stand with Rahul Gandhi? Again going to voters with accusitions
and verbal political abuses will it go well with the younger generations.
BJP is not an entity in Andhra but the first time voters are mad after
Narendra Modi technological transformation and developmental models.

TDP may be right in its political views. To build up a war like situation
between TDP and BJP, both sides added fuel to the fire.

Chandrababu Naidu said the TDP has taken the "painful decision"
to withdraw its ministers from the Centre in the interest of the state, as it was left with no
other option.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had said the Centre was happy to give Andhra Pradesh funds
equivalent to what a special category state receives, but said giving it "special category
status" as demanded by Mr Naidu was not possible as the 14th Finance Commission had scrapped
the scheme for all but north-eastern and three hill states.

"The Centre cannot say now that all the funds that I have will now be given to the states and I
have no money because after all the security of India is a Central responsibility," This is centre arguement

Chandrababu Naidu felt Jaitley's words were "hurtful and insulting," alleging that
they suggested that the TDP was "asking for money at thee expense of the country's Defemce
Budget... Jaitley spoke like we asked for all the money. We felt insulted." was angry comment of Naidu

The chief minister tried to speak to PM Modi on phone as a courtesy to inform him about
the decision to pull out of the government. "It is my responsibility as a coalition partner to
inform the prime minister about our party decision.

The TDP has been deeply upset since BJP Government presented the Union Budget last month,
complaining that it neglected Andhra Pradesh. The TDP y faces extreme pressure in the state
ahead of assembly elections and the national election next year, with opposition parties
accusing Naidu of failing Andhra Pradesh by not ensuring special status for it as a partner
at the Centre.

The TDP and other Andhra Pradesh parties say nothing short of "special status" will do as that
was promised to the state when it was bifurcated to carve out a new state Telangana, leaving
what was left of Andhra Pradesh in a deep revenue deficit.
